Whew!

It's been busy busy busy for us in the Casperson household! Last weekend we took our annual trip to Bluefin Bay. Good friends, good food and (finally!) good weather. We even made it to My Sister's Place this year! Last year we went up there on a Sunday and they were closed! There were a lot of people in Grand Marais which was probably due to the wildfires off the Gunflint Trail. We couldn't see or smell any smoke but did see a KMSP Channel 9 helicopter flying overhead.

On a sad note, the Tuesday before our trip our beloved Brody the wiener dog had a seizure on the kitchen floor. It was truly one of the most frightening things I have ever seen. I thought he was dying. I was pretty much shrieking "Brody, Brody!" and unfortunately Nicolas was right there with me. I finally came to my senses, calmed my crying son, put him in another room and called the emergency vet. By this time the seizure had pretty much ended and Brody was acting normal again. Blood tests and xrays came back inconclusive. So we really don't know why it happened or if it could happen again. I hope we never have to witness another one, but at least we know he won't die from them. Otherwise, he is really healthy for an 11 year old dog and seems to be back to his old self.

We will be going up to the lake again for Memorial Day weekend. Mmm, Mmm. Gin and Tonic here I come. Time to break in that camper! I am so excited to use it for the first time! We popped it up a few weekends ago to clean it out. We turned on some tunes, had a few beers, felt like we were camping right in our driveway. :)

Last but never least, Happy Anniversary Mark and Janet! It sure was a heckuva lot warmer outside 7 years ago today! Hope you have a good one!

5 Bad 5 Good

OK. I guess I am in the mood to rant so here are 5 things that annoyed me today.

1. Dog poop on the sidewalk(and the street, and in my yard from a dog that isn't mine). Please people, pick up your dog's feces. It's really not hard to do. Just bend over, pick up poo with a plastic baggie, turn said baggie inside out, dispose into garbage bag and PRESTO no dog poo left where others may trod upon it. Uugh.

2. My neighbor's house. It's a nice house but it is white. ALL white. White siding, white door, white landscape rock, white trim, and no shutters to give it a little color. Just white. Their garage was open and I noticed their SUV parked in it. It too is white. Hmmmm.

3. Unfriendly people. From church no less!!

4. Our pond still does not hold water and I am tired of looking at it.

5. My knee still hurts.


Whew. Now that I got all that off my chest I suppose I can come up with 5 things that made me happy today. I think. :)

1. I have lost 12 pounds. Hooray!

2. My son is too cute for words.

3. The weather is beautiful and spring is finally here!

4. We leave for Bluefin Bay next weekend! Yippee!!!

5. My knee may still hurt, but at least now I can walk. So it is almost better I guess.
