Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree!

The day after Thanksgiving Eric and I always put up the tree and start getting our house ready for Christmas. Our tree looks a little different this year. Kinda top heavy. :) Nicolas really loves it though. He will walk up to it and touch the lights. Pretty much whenever he sees a Christmas tree he will yell "Bah" or something to that affect and point excitedly. It's been really fun seeing his reaction to all the shiny lights and Christmas-y stuff around town. The Target Christmas display is probably his favorite place right now. I can't go into that store without a run through that department.

Nicolas Loves Disco

On Saturday afternoon the girls and I went to the club. With our kids. Foundation nightclub in Minneapolis was hosting Baby Loves Disco and they had quite the set-up. Every kind of snack a small child could dream off, coloring book stations, bubble machines, and DJs spinning all the fun dance tunes (70's and 80's stuff) the kids could handle. It was a little surreal getting down on the dance floor while I was holding my 13 month old son. :) Unfortunetely I had to hold him for most of the time we were there, since every time I would let him go he would run & run & run far far away and I would have to chase after him. Not an easy feat in a very crowded dance club. But he would let me hold his little hand and he'd bop along to the music. Too cute. Afterwards, Connie and her girls Amanda and Sara came back to our house for an afterparty. It included large quantities of milk(of both the cow and human variety), Veggie Booty and pizza that took 2 hours to arrive. The fun ended at 9 pm when it was time for the party boy and girls to crash. And Nic did just that, sleeping all through the night until 7:30 this morning!

Doh!!

It sure has been a nice day so far. Nicolas slept in until 8:15 this morning and has been in a super good mood all day! Eric had a big surprise at work today (congrats to you honey!!), and to top it off it was really cool to wake up this morning and see snow covering the grass. It totally got me into a holiday state of mind. Oh, and Nic and I played with Play-Doh after lunch today. That SMELL took me WAY back to the 70's when I used to sit at my parent's kitchen table creating my masterpieces. Now it is Nic's turn to be the Play-Doh artist (though I admit I had some fun with the stuff today too!)

It sure is a catchy little tune

Something kinda funny. Whenever the current Office Depot commercial comes on, Nic stops whatever he is doing and stares directly at the TV with wide eyed amazement. Not sure if it's the song he likes or that arm that pops out of the box but it's gotta be something.
