It's been a while since I have posted anything but a lot has happened during that time! Where shall I begin?
Nicolas is walking. Not just around the furniture. I mean real across the room, on the grass, with toys in hand, walking. He holds his little arms out like Frankenstein and toddles around. He's just too cute. Nic's 1st birthday is also right around the corner! September 28th he will be 1 years old. Eric and I have to start planning his bash! Fun fun!
We just got back from the lake today. We went up on Wednesday afternoon. Our truck was COMPLETELY full with stuff. Eric had to drive his motorcycle because the passenger seat of the truck was being used for our pillows and blankets to sit on. After it was all packed in, Eric says "I think we forgot the kitchen sink." That is life now with a baby. It takes all day to pack up stuff and you pretty much need two vehicles to haul all the stuff around. No wonder people buy minivans. Tempting. The weather could have been much better. Saturday was nice and sunny, but the wind off the lake was cold so we didn't go swimming. The other days it was a little rainy so we never made it into the water. Today would have been the perfect day to swim! But of course we had to go home today. Grrrrrr.

On Friday Janet and I left the kids at the lake with their Dads and Grandparents and we went to the Dixie Chicks! Connie came with us, along with her unborn chicks fan. (Less than 3 weeks left!) It was a pretty good show and fun to sing along too, although it was hard to understand what she was saying inbetween songs. There were a few political jokes here and there but other than that, it was a straight up classic Chicks concert. I do however, hope that Natalie and the gang get all their anger and frustration with their situation out during this tour, and then kinda drop it for the next album. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with the fact that they do not like our current administration (does anyone really?) but it's starting to take away from their music and that is what people love them for. I didn't say "Shut up and sing" I am merely saying "Let's just let it go and move on".
Anyway...........
On Saturday morning, Janet and I went out to her car which was parked in my driveway all night, to go back to the cabin. It was then that we noticed the car looked a little, I don't know, BROKEN IN TO. Some kids had opened the car door (it was unlocked..crap) and stole all her CDs. But the crazy thing is they left the XM radio alone, and it looks like they actually took out the CDs they didn't want (how can you not like Simon and Garfunkel!) and left them in the car. We were not the only ones in the neighborhood to have stuff stolen either. They are not breaking windows or anything, just checking to see which cars are open, and then stealing things like CDs and cigarettes. So right away we knew it was kids. And the St. Michael police department says they know who these kids are, they just need to catch them. The good news I guess is that they don't live in my neighborhood, they just like to drive around and get into trouble. Jerks. Now I am going to log into the BMG website, sign up for for 12 for 1 deal and help get Dammit Janet's music back.
