Aggghhhh!

I am a little frustrated these days. Mostly because I feel like I am not doing such a great job as a mom. I know that is a little harsh but that is how I feel sometimes. Right now I am having a heck of a time getting Nic to eat. And I feel like I am starving the poor thing, even though he seems perfectly content just to throw anything I give him on the floor or to the dog. He won't try anything new (he just pushes it around on his tray and makes faces) and pretty much eats only crackers, cheese (which lately has been ending up on the floor too), yogurt (because I feed it to him), applesauce, formula and cereal. I end up feeding him his baby food for meals because he won't touch anything else! So, basically I am blaming all of this on myself. Oh what to do? He is getting his two front teeth in now, so that could be part of the problem. Hopefully when they come in he will feel more like eating??!!

Mommy & Me

Yesterday Nicolas and I went over to my mom's new place for a visit. While we were there she made me and Nic grilled cheese sandwiches for lunch. It was a rainy summer day and there was just something comforting about my mom making me lunch. Just like I was a little kid again! :)

Thanks Mom!

Rants and Raves

It's been a while since I have posted anything but a lot has happened during that time! Where shall I begin?

Nicolas is walking. Not just around the furniture. I mean real across the room, on the grass, with toys in hand, walking. He holds his little arms out like Frankenstein and toddles around. He's just too cute. Nic's 1st birthday is also right around the corner! September 28th he will be 1 years old. Eric and I have to start planning his bash! Fun fun!

We just got back from the lake today. We went up on Wednesday afternoon. Our truck was COMPLETELY full with stuff. Eric had to drive his motorcycle because the passenger seat of the truck was being used for our pillows and blankets to sit on. After it was all packed in, Eric says "I think we forgot the kitchen sink." That is life now with a baby. It takes all day to pack up stuff and you pretty much need two vehicles to haul all the stuff around. No wonder people buy minivans. Tempting. The weather could have been much better. Saturday was nice and sunny, but the wind off the lake was cold so we didn't go swimming. The other days it was a little rainy so we never made it into the water. Today would have been the perfect day to swim! But of course we had to go home today. Grrrrrr.

On Friday Janet and I left the kids at the lake with their Dads and Grandparents and we went to the Dixie Chicks! Connie came with us, along with her unborn chicks fan. (Less than 3 weeks left!) It was a pretty good show and fun to sing along too, although it was hard to understand what she was saying inbetween songs. There were a few political jokes here and there but other than that, it was a straight up classic Chicks concert. I do however, hope that Natalie and the gang get all their anger and frustration with their situation out during this tour, and then kinda drop it for the next album. I have absolutely NO PROBLEM with the fact that they do not like our current administration (does anyone really?) but it's starting to take away from their music and that is what people love them for. I didn't say "Shut up and sing" I am merely saying "Let's just let it go and move on".

Anyway...........

On Saturday morning, Janet and I went out to her car which was parked in my driveway all night, to go back to the cabin. It was then that we noticed the car looked a little, I don't know, BROKEN IN TO. Some kids had opened the car door (it was unlocked..crap) and stole all her CDs. But the crazy thing is they left the XM radio alone, and it looks like they actually took out the CDs they didn't want (how can you not like Simon and Garfunkel!) and left them in the car. We were not the only ones in the neighborhood to have stuff stolen either. They are not breaking windows or anything, just checking to see which cars are open, and then stealing things like CDs and cigarettes. So right away we knew it was kids. And the St. Michael police department says they know who these kids are, they just need to catch them. The good news I guess is that they don't live in my neighborhood, they just like to drive around and get into trouble. Jerks. Now I am going to log into the BMG website, sign up for for 12 for 1 deal and help get Dammit Janet's music back.

Mama's back from WeFest

And did Mama have fun! Janet, Holly and I left last Wednesday for Detroit Lakes and got home Sunday afternoon. I truly am too old to party till 4 a.m. so I have been catching up on my sleep for the last few days. But it was fun and totally worth the sleep deprivation. The highlight of WeFest had to be Keith Urban. What a beautiful man. It was probably by far the best show of the weekend. I noticed the girls dress code this year consisted of bikini tops and reeaallly short jean skirts. I guess I missed the memo on that one. Then again, I am no longer in my teens & 20's either. :) I did not take my digital camera with so I have to wait for my disposable camera pics to develop. When they do, if there are any good ones I will post a few for all to see! Yeehaw ya'll!
