A beautiful Memorial Day weekend!

Hopefully everyone had a fun and safe Memorial Day weekend! We were at Eric's Aunt Gerrie and Uncle Bob's cabin in Annandale for the weekend and had a really good time! The weather this year was nice for a change. Usually we are holed up in the cabin or outside dodging raindrops. This was Nic's first time there and I think he liked it! He got to play with Amber and Sam and got lots of love from Eric's relatives. Brody was REALLY happy too! It was probably the happiest I have seen him since before Nicolas was born. He started barking and his tail was wagging a mile a minute the second I pulled onto the dirt road to the cabin. Happy happy dog. Eric drove his new Victory motorcycle up to the cabin this year. He was like a little kid, all excited! Its a really cool one this year. It has flames and everything! Boys and their toys. :) Next year we will have a pop-up trailer to bring up with us. I can't wait! Our family is getting so big, we are running out of places for everyone to sleep!

Blue Water, Blue Sky, Even I turned a little blue

Eric, Nic and I returned home yesterday from our annual trip to Bluefin Bay! We, along with our favorite travel companions Angie, Steve and Alison, go every year the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. It is a much anticipated trip I can tell you! This year we had a 3 bedroom corner unit right on the lake. #9 if anyone wants to check it out! So nice. It was a bit cold up there, but we have gotten used to that. Nicolas went swimming in the pool for the first time too! He wasn't scared at all! The only bad thing that happened was that My Sister's Place was closed on Sunday. Usually we go to Grand Marais on Saturday, walk around town, do a little shopping etc, etc. This year we decided to go on Sunday because the weather was going to be nicer. Well, live and learn I guess. Now we will have to wait another WHOLE YEAR before we can have the best burger ever. Except for Eric because he sucks and he gets to go there twice in July. Jerk. :) After all the fun and games, sadly it was time to go home. The ride home was a bit crazy. Nicolas was fine until after we had stopped for lunch at Little Angie's in Duluth. He decided he did not want to be strapped into that restricting car seat and proceeded to SCREAMMMMMMM his lungs out. Our truck was packed tight so I could not get into the backseat to sit with him, so we had to pull off on the next available exit ramp. I changed a dirty diaper, took off his hot sweatshirt, Eric repacked the truck so I could sit next to Nic and away we went. When we finally got home I noticed that my arms seemed a bit, shall I say, bluish. What the heck? The sweatshirt I had purchased the day before (I'm wearing it in the picture) from the Bluefin gift shop had turned me into a Smurf. I had seen the washing instructions informing me that I needed to wash the shirt before wearing, but I thought, what's gonna happen. Well, blue armpits is what happens. And also blue tummy, chest and back. Need I say more?

Happy Mother's Day!!

Sunday was my very first Mother's Day! Last year I was pregnant and celebrated Mom's Day too, but this year it was official. It was such a nice day! I got some lovely gifts and sweet cards and ate way too much! It has been such a blessing to have my little Nicolas, I can't imagine life without him. Last night as I was rocking him to sleep, I couldn't stop looking at his beautiful little face. This little person has changed mine and Eric's lives so much and we give thanks to God every day for him!

Like Father, Like Son

I was looking through my pics recently and had to post this one. Nicolas looks so much like his daddy in this picture!

Goodbye Chris!!

I am in mourning. Chris was kicked off American Idol. How can this be? Well, I guess I only have myself (and all other lazy viewers like me) to blame. If you don't call and vote for your favorite you can't expect your favorite to win. Oh well. I will watch the rest of the show just to see who wins, but I won't be happy about it!!

That's Nacho Mama! (Well, actually, it is!)

On Saturday Eric, Nicolas and I spent the afternoon with my Mom for an early Mother's Day celebration. We had lunch at Nacho Mama's in Stillwater, a tiny little Mexican restaurant off of the main strip. A little tricky to find, but so good! We sat out on their cute little patio and drank margaritas and beer and ate super yummy food! Nicolas really liked the fountain they had on the patio! It was a beautiful day and I hope my Mama had fun! We love you!!

Pants Off - Dance Off

Ok, now that I have your attention. Last night at 9 p.m. I came across the strangest show I have ever seen. It is called Pants Off-Dance Off and is on the Fuse network. Basically it is a music video (PCD's Beep was one of them) playing in the background and a person (not the brightest bulbs) dancing and stripping in front of the video. They also answer questions about themselves, for example, "What is my favorite dance move? Probably slapping my ass like this!" (and then proceeds to slap her ass). And they dance for the whole song, not just a part of it. Very funny stuff. I highly recommend checking it out. :)
